My Iris Today and a Update on My Separating Iris Post

A tour of my stunning Iris in the garden. Also I give an update on the Iris I dug up, separated and replanted last summer.
The Sultan a gorgeous colors in contrast. This one really glows in the sunlight.
White with another color always catches my eye. The blue really shines next to the white.
Starship Enterprise, a favorite! This one is going crazy and I separating it out once this past summer already. Time to dig it up and do it again.
Some even come with freckles, this one will always be dear to me. Love, love, love the sprinkles on the falls.
I think this one is called Blackberry Truffle.
last but not least, a collage of some of the ones I replanted last summer from rhizomes I separated out. Blooming the first year.

My Iris have just finished blooming and now some of the plants are getting a big green ball in the place of a flower , can you tell me what this big green ball is and does it have anything to do with the correct time to move or replant the iris. Thank you for your time.

When moving your iris, do you cut the foilage a certain way? I have often seen it cut in what i would call a V pattern. Any thoughts or suggestions? And i too think that iris can be moved in the mid summer, they've got to have some time to settle into their new location. Thanks

@Suzanne Linker Speights No I don't, I think those that do do it for aesthetic reasons and not because it is better for the plant. Mine have done very well when I have moved them not long after blooming and even right before blooming. Crazy as that may seem. I had to move some this Spring and they all bloomed beautifully.
