i love bottles and use them in a variety of ways. Recently my husband was given some expensive scotch in a special edition Miami bottle. I really wanted to keep that bottle but didnt care to have the branding on it. I posted a question here on Hometalk and got a couple of answers of You Tube videos showing different approaches. I decided to try my way!

Empty bottle

The bottle! Just want to keep the pretty Miami scene.

Trusty White Vinegar

My first approach was to try white vinegar

Soaked a paper towel and placed it on the part I wanted to take off. Left it for about 2 hours. With a blade scraper I saw that it was softer and removed a tiny bit.

Wrapped in plastic

I resoaked the paper towel and placed it over the two places I wanted to remove and wrapped the 2 areas with plastic wrap. I left it overnight.

Starting to come off

As you can see after this time it really was coming off. For good measure I soaked the paper towel again and left it a few more hours.

Pretty bottle

I washed it well and scrubbed with a sponge and it’s now to my satisfaction.

Pretty Miami image

Thank you Hometalkers for showing me this could be done!
