This project turned out to be a real success and was so easy to do! I had an old broken part of a chair and decided to use it for additional seating and reclining in my apartment. Heres how!

I first cleaned off some old dust and dirt (this was sitting outside for some time)

Then, I placed a removable chair cushion (which you can purchase at a Dollar Store) on the seat of the chair. I used a staple gun to keep it in place. It will serve as the padding of the ottoman!

Now the fun part! Using a sweet floral fabric, I upholstered the ottoman.

I used the handy dandy staple gun to do so!

Its looking good! Make sure to pull tightly at the corners as you staple. This way the fabric wont bubble up on the seat.

Then once the fabric was fully adhered, I trimmed the extra fabric.

It looks good! It's a bit tall for an ottoman but still works!

And also serves well as extra seating!

I love it, hope you do as well!

We have 14 similar chairs and the back just broke off one. I was trying to think if I could make an ottoman out of this chair, and came across your project. Perfect. I want just the right cover fabric, but I have everything else. Thanks for such simple directions and great photos.
