Summer Mantel

My first summer decor project was to change over the family room fireplace mantel decor. After Christmas I created a serene mantel setting using neutral colors. I loved the look which included three cast iron candlesticks, a burlap mongram wreath, and a lady bust. For the winter look, the accept color was red. Then in spring I was reluctant to change over, but I did want a fresher look. I decided to keep the same three main elements and to add decor inspired by spring - with green being the anchoring color. Now for summer I am challenging myself to continue this trend. I changed over the accents and greenery for those of blue and white. I'm enjoying the overall look and am planning to do the same this fall.
The summer family room fireplace mantel decor
The lady bust surrounded by books with blue binding, stacked glass containers filled with collected sea shells.
Blue and white accents balance the opposite end of the fireplace to the lady bust
White accents surround the centerpiece - a stoneware dish with blue and white flowers. This dish is also filled with collected sea shells and coral.
Faux blue Hydrangea replaced the bird's nest for the new summer look.
The centerpiece - a blue and white dish, sea shells and white bird accents
The three cast iron candlesticks remained with the beeswax candles. Three blue and white decor items were added for color.

It is funny how we put certain things on our mantel and never change them. I change out for some holidays, then change right back. I better take a look at my mantel and do some updating! Great job!
