The space I call my workshop is pretty small, so in true DIY fashion, I chose to build a workbench to fit my needs. This 4' x 4' workbench gives the storage I need to store my bigger tools such as a planer and a routing table.

The first thing to do is cut the wood according to the plans located on my blog, The Crafted Maker. Then, drill the pocket holes. There is a detailed diagram of pocket hole placement in the plans.
Now time to start assembling the base of the workbench. You will essentially be making two rectangle boxes, to begin with.
Once those are assembled, stand them on their sides and attach the bottom supports with pocket hole screws, connecting the two together.

Then, attach the top supports.
Now that the base is assembled, move on to the top and bottom shelves. Attach with wood screws. For an easier job, use clamps to hold the plywood while screwing it in from underneath.
After the shelves are attached, add the casters to the four corners. Be mindful of placement if your casters are locking casters.

That's all there is to it! I loved building this workbench and have loved using it even more. Be sure to check out my site for the FREE PLANS!! Have fun building icon
