Sea Urchin Incense Holder

This incense holder is made from only two ingredients: A sea urchin and air dry clay. This project is really easy and is so unique.
If you are lucky enough to live in a place where sea urchins are naturally found then you just need to go to the beach and pick a few old urchin shells up. If they are not native to your area you can buy them on sites like Etsy for pretty cheap.
You will need a golf ball sized amount of air dry clay. Take the clay and tear it into smaller pieces and very, very gently press it into the interior of the urchin.
Remember the emphasis is on gently. If you press to hard the urchin will crack and break.
Fill the back of the urchin all the way up so that the entire center of the urchin is full of air dry clay.
Flip the urchin over and take the end of the incense stick and poke it into the clay. Let the clay dry for at least 24 hours.
place the incense stick into the hole and you are ready to light it.
Make sure you place the incense holder on a fireproof surface like I did with this terra cotta pot.
