Stars of My Late Spring Garden

Spring is winding down but the flowers in my garden are just getting started. I thought I would share some of my favorites blooming this week.
Campanula latifolia and Digitalis lutea
Aruncus dioicus, Penstemon digitalis and a hosta
Digitalis grandiflora and Aquilegia
Astilbe "Deutschland", Polygonatum odoratum, and Hosta "Francee"
Penstemon digitalis and Hosta "Regal Splendor"
Iris siberica and Chamaecyparis pisifera
Heuchera "Bressingham Hybrids", foliage Belamcanda chinensis, and Hosta "Gold Drop"
Papaver orientale "Brilliant"
Geranium cantabrigiense "Biokovo" with Heuchera "Dale's Strain" in the background.
Iris siberica and Aquilegia canadensis
Yet another variety of Iris siberica (I prefer Siberians to Bearded).
Campanula rotundifolia-one of the longest blooming flowers in my garden. It blooms off and on until the first frost.
Penstemon digitalis-a favorite of bees and hummingbirds. Blooms heavily even with only a few hours of sun.
More Digitalis grandiflora, this foxglove has been reliably perennial in my Zone 5 garden for a few years now, even with the low temps we had this past winter.
White Aquilegia-not sure of her name-I received this in a seed trade a couple of years ago.

Most of these are perennials, shade tolerant (except the poppy), hardy to at least zone 5, low maintenance and easily started from seed. I recommend them to any gardener looking for easy care perennials.

Wow, lovely flowers and a beautiful garden indeed. Your garden must be very colorful and lively with such varied colored flowers and plantation in it. I simply love such gardens. Thanks for posting the pictures. What else do you plan to add in your garden?

@Elizabeth Sagarminaga Thank you! I am always open to new additions to my garden-especially if I can grow them from seed.
