Need more space or want to fill up an empty side of your house. Try a Vertical Garden. See how I made mine.
We bought pre treated lumbar (you can get the specific sizes and how to attach them on my blog post listed above and at the bottom.) Then cut them to our desired lengths.
Attach plastic planters with 16 gauge wire.
Now for the fun part. Plant herbs, flowers, vegetables or whatever your little heart desires.
Water. Water. Water. Watch them grow. People will compliment you on this fun and functional DIY garden project.

@Amy: What are your creative thoughts about using bunk bed, treated, wood, slatted frame pieces for this?? Too bulky, maybe? I like that the wood is already treated. It's reminiscent of barn-style type. Heavy, thick wood. Do you think it would be too much, visually?

@Lezlie I think that would look fabulous as long as they are treated. You could even paint the slats if you wanted to give it a weathered look or cleaner look. I actually wished I had used bigger pieces of wood to give it that "barn" look. Great idea! Send me pics if you do this, I would love to see it.
