Shells Al'a More. Shells in Glass Cylinders.

This is absolutely gorgeous. So I had to share with my Hometalk family. I love, love, love dining alfresco. And I'm at the beach every chance I get. So when I saw this my mouth dropped open and my heart skipped a few beats. Although I have not tried my hand at doing a tablescape like this, this was my inspiration to gather all my shells into one glass container. See more of this tablescape at: http://tabletwentyone.wordpress.com/2014/06/10/ocean-blue-starfish-seashells/.

Beautiful...don't you agree? I could sit and look at these shells for hours. To me, sea shells are all so beautiful and their formation is so interesting.
Ok Well I'm not there yet, But I did gather all my shells and carefully placed them in a 30" by 11" diameter cylinder. Purchased at Garden Ridge.
I purchased a 5" stand as well, to get it off the floor.
I placed it in my morning room along side my plants. It makes a nice floor vignette. I'll add to this vignette in time with other objects that I love. (ahh, the corks, it's 6 yrs worth. :-)).
There are many, many shells in this, I may have to divide and conquer.
Time to start another one. I'll keep gathering my sea shells at the beach until I fill her up.
This is such a refreshing tablescape. One day hopefully I will attempt to do this. Thank you Tablescape at Table Twenty One!

LOVE IT; I'd done this myself only, on a smaller scale since I did not want any my my beautiful, fragile shells to break from the weight of the shells above.

I'd added a handful of sand at the bottom of my vase and put a lid on it to keep dust & insects out.
