Danger With Bird Feeders

This bird feeder is squirrel proof. Because it was not filled all the way up a little bird got caught inside the feeder tube and could not get back out. I now hesitate to us the feeder.
This little bird was trapped inside the feeder tube and could not get out.
He could'nt find the feeder holes to exit.
Got him out. He flew away to his waiting mate
I am thinking that I should not use this feeder anymore. I also have another feeder with the same size of feeder holes. I think the holes themselves are too big for those smaller birds. And there is no way to get them to stay away from this feeder.
Here is another feeder I have which might have the same problem.

I had one of these too. The bottom fell off and a squirrel got stuck inside the cage part, my husband got the squirrel out and took the thing apart. I now use the cage part as a brace for my tiny peony plant.

Thank you so much for informing us of the dangers such bird feeders can bring to those beautiful little creatures. I haven't encountered any similar problems yet, as my bird feeders have wooden rods placed at several positions and the holes in the bird feeders are big enough to let food out but not big enough to let birds in. Thank you anyway for making us aware of this danger.
