If you have upper cabinets on either of your kitchen sink , that don't have shelves on the side, this is a great way to "open" up the area and brighten your kitchen !

Only the center area is a window !

Ok, I can't take credit for this idea, when we bought this house, it was already there, installed by the original homeowner.

When looking at this picture, only the center is a real window, the mirrors are on the left and right, of the window.

Left side

This is looking at it from one angle, looking towards the left mirror...

Right side

And this angle, is looking towards the right side mirror.

When standing at the sink, you don't feel closed in by the cabinets on either side of you..it just feels bright and open, and you can see in all directions!!! It sort of works like a trifold bathroom mirror.

I have never seen this done , and wanted to share the idea. Everyone who visits my home and stands at my sink , always comment on what a great idea it is.

Bright kitchen !

To do this , get 2 mirrors as close to the size of the side of the cabinet, and attach with clips or mine has a metal lip on the top and bottom that the mirror slides into .

Metal lip holding the mirror
Suggested materials:
  • 2 mirrors as close to the size of the side of your cabinet   (Home Depot)
  • Hardware to attach mirrors , mine was just a lip , for the top and bottom   (Home depot)

I absolutely love this idea!! I have exactly the same cabinet and window. I’ve struggled to figure out what to put in the space. I’ve had pictures, crosses, and now nothing. I’m going to do this a.s.a.p.!! Thank you!! 🎃
