Creating My {Modern Farmhouse} Kitchen

In the summer of 2013 my husband and I built a new home, and the vision of our dream kitchen finally became reality.
For years I had contemplated what I would want in a an ideal kitchen space. The following items came to mind each time: bright, open, space to cook, space to entertain, and all of this with a modern yet country feel to it. So we sat and sketched our concepts on paper, and then our architect and builder turned our rough sketch into a blueprint, and here we are today....
Large 9-foot soapstone island with sink and tabouret stools for seating
Commercial-style sink faucet in brushed nickle and silgranit sink
White shaker-style pull cabinets house large plates, bowls and other dishes in lieu of wall cabinets; this maximizes natural light in the space
Verona 6-burner dual-fuel range
Natural wood decor and soapstone counters
Reclaimed wood wall cap separates kitchen from dining area
Farmhouse pendant lighting and view to the dining from the kitchen
View of island and kitchen from different angle
