Our Garden

Sitting on the patio this morning watching butterflies in the garden.
We have a small garden right next to our patio, where we like to sit on Saturday and Sunday mornings to savor coffee and the beauty around us.
We have to pull this out every year, long after the butterfly eggs have hatched, or the pods would spread them everywhere. They smell lovely and are pretty to look at. They are some type of milkweed my daughter tells me, but, the bees, birds and butterflies love them.
This was one of the few butterflies I got good shots of today. There are also some orange ones that are gorgeous. The bees were everywhere, and the bees and butterflies were jockeying for position.
There were irises earlier in the season.
This is a hibiscus I believe. It's in a container on the patio and is blooming like crazy right now. That's a solar light in the container. I have them all over the yard and lining the sidewalk, so it's like fairyland at night.
One of the climbing vines, to the side of the patio, that my daughter planted before going to graduate school. She's the real gardener in the family. She's a geologist.
