Sometimes furniture just needs a little face lift. And sometimes you need that dresser or nightstand to be just a little taller.

We've got you covered!

In the past we have added legs to so many different things.

But it never has been easy. Until we came across this sweet little tool!

Here is a little before and after to show you what a difference the little legs or feet can make on a piece of furniture.

You can easily get this look!

See that base the the dresser already has?

Well, it looks kind of funny when you add legs under that because that base IS it's legs right now.

So we have to get rid of that first.

The front of it simply was held on by screws, so we just unscrewed the front off.

Then we used the secret weapon. This Dremel Multi-Max tool!!

Before you click off of this tutorial because you don't want to spend money on a tool, just hear me out.

This thing is amazing. And it's not just for adding legs to your dresser or nightstand.

We have used it on so many projects around our house since we got it.

  • It has a sanding attachment to become similar to a mouse sander.
  • It can be used as a mighty scraper
  • You can cut through wood that other tools just can't
  • I've used it for drawer repairs
  • Cutting wood around a stripped screw that we couldn't get out
  • Cutting notches into wood
  • You can use it to remove grout

The list goes on and on. I mean, it is a multi functional tool.

Anyway, so we used the Dremel to cut the sides off and flush with the flat surface so we could put the new legs on the flat surface.

See how it's all cut down so it's completely smooth and flush??

Once it was all cut down, I screwed on the furniture leg plates for the legs.

And then screwed on the legs. You can find the legs here. They have a lot of good ones!

And then we painted the whole dresser!

We have more ways to add legs to furniture on our blog, but this one is by far the easiest way.

Can't that bottom piece just be unscrewed from the other half? It looks like moulding from my perspective.
