Turn an Old Vintage Stereo Cabinet into a functional storage place.

Have you passed by vintage

stereo cabinets at yard sales, Craig’s lists and said what would you do with

this piece. Well here are some easy inexpensive steps to transform your new

found piece into a treasured jewel. This is where chalk paint or clay base

paint and some easy Diy projects will make you stop in your tracks and not pass

up the next one. Mom and I couldn’t help but rescue this vintage stereo

cabinet it was calling our name. We decided we were going to transform this

piece into a Funky Bold Moroccan Style Cabinet.

First we cleaned our piece with vinegar and water, and let it thoroughly dry.

We wanted to add some height so we added 4 inch bun feet to the base and used wooden wall brackets not only for height on the top but to also capture an unique feel. These products were found at Home Depot.

We chose some lively bold colors to bring this piece back to life. DIY Paints from Debi Design Diary.

We applied a base coat then let it dry. We used our Paint Pixie Brushes.

Then we started to add layers of paint. We were going for a bold and funky look.

We added Moroccan Style paper to the inside using Adhesive Glue that is an aerosol spray, to adhere the paper. Spray the back of the paper and gently adhere the paper to where you see fit.

We wanted to add a fun element to the piece so made our own pom poms using the clover pom pom maker

We let the paint dry overnight then applied a clear and dark wax. A little wax goes a long way, remove access wax with a dry rag , we waited till the next day and buff the piece, the more your buff the shiner it gets.

Viola !!! here it is, did you recognize the cabinet? It took on a whole new look and we were excited to see the transformation. She did sell from our shop . We continue to rescue more pieces and transform them into One Of A Kind Pieces. Thank you for reading icon . Check out new exciting things on our Facebook or Instagram page. Thanks so much Toni !!!
