Hi, I'm Amber Oliver! I hope if you enjoy this project you'll also stop by my blog!

Our old fence had seen better days. It was falling down and I keep having to re-nail boards up. So we finally decided to tear it down and build a new one! We saved a ton of money doing it ourselves and it's a beautiful project we are very proud of!

Here's the before photo! The first thing we did was knock this old fence down and remove the posts. If you're interested in how we removed the posts, please click here!

After that, attach “rot boards”. We used 1x6 so it made the fence a little taller.

After the rot board is nailed on the bottom, use the kreg jig to drill holes and put up your 2x4s!

Next we had to set new 4×4 posts with quickrete.

Now is the fun part - putting up your pickets! We worked with our neigbors on our fence so we divided this in teams. After we had one sections 2x4's put up one team put up the pickets and the other team moved on to the next section of 2x4s. It made it really efficient and we easily finished in one weekend!

We are obsessed with our new fence! What do you think?
