Wrapped Twig Bouquet

Wrapping twigs is such a quick and simple craft activity I have no idea why I haven’t done it before! It’s perfect for adults and children alike. All you need is odds and ends of yarn and some twigs. It is the perfect project for using up small pieces of yarn.

Collect a variety of twigs, this is perfect for getting everyone outdoors for a walk in the fresh air, explore your local woods. Alternatively prune a tree - these twigs are from the trimming of a tree in our garden. Start by wrapping some yarn around a twig as tightly as you can manage and securing with a knot.

Keep wrapping, secure with another knot and cut off. Then swap colours. Random colours build up to create a colourful display.

If you have a variety of textures of yarn this could really add another element to your bouquet.

Build the colours up, have fun, play - curvy twigs, straight twigs, textured yarn, flat yarn. Arrange as a bouquet, or how about a star format, or a wreath made of wrapped twigs? The possibilities are endless.
