These DIY ornaments are so easy to make they are perfect for a craft at a kids party, but so fun and beautiful you will also want to make one yourself!

To begin this super simple DIY ornaments you will need the following supplies:

Glass Craft Ornaments

Epson Salts

Tiny Seasonal Goodies to use as ornament fill.

When selecting ornament fill, make sure your items fit through the opening of the ornaments you have selected.

There are so many options with this ornament. You can select items based on a theme (candy, Santa, religious, etc), you can select items based on your color scheme (red, green, gold, neutral, etc), you can even create a Christmas movies theme (The Polar Express, The Grinch, Charlie Brown). The possibilities are endless.

If planning for a party craft select a variety of items to use as fill. It is so much fun watching the kids choose which items they want for their ornament and seeing the personalities of the kids in the final product.

Epson Salts make the perfect base for this ornament because not only will epson salts typically not harden into a clump when stored but it also has a tiny bit of static, which can allow it to cling to the glass or to pieces of the fill as it is in the photo above. This feature adds to the snow effect of the ornament.

Remove the hanger from the top of the ornament and fill your ornament approximately 1/8 - 1/4 with Epson Salts.

Tip: If planning this as a craft for a kids party, depending on how much time is available and the age of the group, you may want to pre-fill the ornaments with the Epson Salts.

Select a few items to add to your ornament. After you have added a few pieces, hold your finger over the opening and shake gently. This will give you an idea of how the ornament will look after it settles. You can now determine if the ornament is perfect or if more items need to be added. Continue this process until you have the ornament exactly as you would like. Carefully replace the hanger at the top, and enjoy your beautiful new Christmas ornament.

Tip: Items can be removed from the ornament if you add too many but it is much more difficult to get components out than it was to put them in so try to add only those you want to remain.

These beautiful ornaments can be enjoyed for years to come. For more details, and how to use the incomplete ornaments as a table centerpiece during a party, please see the full article here.
