If you're a person that likes to decorate and change things up, being stuck with the same decor year after year can wear on you. But, did you know that it doesn't cost much to change out your tree ornaments if you hit the dollar store for some awesome finds?

Check out our video tutorial for all the steps to decorating a beautiful and affordable Christmas tree. We chose to do ours in blue and gold, but your imagination is the limit here!

Once your tree is assembled and set up, start with a tree skirt (or in our case, a blanket).

We combined a couple of different dollar store items to create a pretty tree topper.

Place ribbon on the tree before adding ornaments. Can you guess what the blue ribbon is made out of? It's crazy affordable! Check out the video!

With the skirt, topper, and ribbon already done, it's time to start with flowers and picks. Keep in mind that you can choose whatever suits your taste for this step. Maybe that's berries or twigs, or glittery flowers.

Now is where the fun really starts! There are so many choices for affordable ornaments. Nestle larger ornaments in the branches and let the smaller ones stand out on the tree.

We love how the tree turned out and the blue and gold together are gorgeous! What colors will you use for your tree?
