Barbed Wire Wreath
Except in the West, you probably would not think of using barbed wire for a wreath, but what a unique and western idea! When a few greens and pine cones are added to a few loops of barbed wire, you might not think of a wreath, but here it is; however, it is unfinished. The barbs scratch the door or wall surface.
To make this unusual Western wreath usable, it needed more greenery and wraps of ribbon to hold it to the loops of barbed wire. You may want a pair of leather gloves for this part. Leave the front showing and "green up" the back side.
After the greenery is attached with wraps of gold ribbon, a few other ideas came to add owls and bows too.
Some more gold hanging decor was applied under the cones.

Finally the finished project. You can still see the barbed wire, but it no longer touches the door and is a little more festive with more greenery and gold added to it. The most difficult part was handling the circle of the wreath, but people in the West are accustomed to living with barbed wire. It is considered a symbol of the ranches fenced to hold cattle on tens of thousands of acres of a ranch.
What a lovely "western" wreath it makes for the front door! From a distance it appears to be the usual grape vine wrap, so this is an amazing surprise to people approaching the door! I love the western theme of this wreath!
