  • What do you need for this project?
  • Dixie Belle Chalk Mineral Paint in Caviar
  • Dixie Belle Gator Hide
  • High Density Foam Brush
  • High Density Foam Roller
  • Foam Roller Assembly
  • Paint Pan
  • Stir Stick

The first step is to mix your Dixie Belle Gator Hide with your paint. Generally people do this with darker colors but it also works really well with white shades as well. Use a stir stick to stir the paint and Gator Hide. The mix may look slightly lighter than what the paint looks like from the jar, but Dixie Belle Gator Hide dries clear. I promise it will look great.

The next step is to get paint on your roller, make sure you aren't glopping it on but also ensure you have nice even coats. Once your paint and Gator Hide dry you will have a smooth and beautiful finish. Just check out the finished product below!!

I used caviar on a table top and then used the blue sponge with gator hide after. Now I have streaks 😩. Can I mix the paint and gator hide while using a paint roller to do a final coat to get a better looking finish without sanding? Or do I need to sand and do a few coats with the mixture?

Do u need to add a finish coat or does the gator hide protect it?
