Custom Dollar Store Floor Mat
Yes, you can make your own designer knock off door mat using dollar store items! All you need is a door mat from the dollar store, a stencil that you like, and spray paint.
This is the rug I chose.
I began by laying the stencil over the rug and sprayed the whole thing with black spray paint. The rug is grey, so this worked nicely!
The stencil was large but did not enough to cover the whole rug so I removed and placed it on each side to finish. I used the old news paper to cover all the areas not being painted.
After I sprayed on the stencil, I also wanted to add in an initial. I used a cricut to cut out an "N" and taped it in the center of the rug.
Then I sprayed the "N" on with a white spray paint.
And that's it! Once it is dry, it's good to go. A simple and great way to take a boring rug from blah to yess!!
