Create an Essential Oil Shelf From a Thrifted Spoon Display
How to repurpose an old spoon shelf into a pretty essential oil shelf.
If you're looking for something to prettily display your essential oils, as well as give you easy access and ability to see labels clearly, and old thrifted spoon shelf will work well.
What an amazing transformation!
Begin with a wooden spoon display, often found easily at thrift stores.
To create a lip so the oils won't fall off the shelf, cut pieces of corner moulding to size.
Sand the front so that you have a smooth surface to attach corner moulding to.
Use wood glue to hold the moulding in place. I used a good product by Aleene’s called Quick-Dry Wood Fusion. It works like super glue, except it’s specifically for wood.
When the glue is dry, use chalk paint to paint your piece.
Add pretty contact paper to the back of the shelf to make it more decorative.
And don't worry, the little dips from the spoon holder part of the shelf do not make the oils tip over at all. They sit very well and very flat on the shelf.
