Colorful Pantry Makeover

I clean out my pantry frequently, because it changes from an organized to a disaster - like my current pantry above.

Last time I cleaned out this pantry was around May 2013, way overdue. So, I got to it right away. But this time I incorporated a little bit of color, replaced the old shelf mats, and painted the entire pantry white. I added some lights and made it functional for my family.

After I had cleaned out and painted everything, the stripes went on next. Apply painters tape along the edge, and once done you can remove them and should have a nice finished edge.

To make this pantry more functional, I added a pull-out shelf (made of a wooden tray). Jasmine is in love with this feature because she can reach everything I put on it.

We used a soda rack to store our tomato cans on, what a money saver!

Big jars in the back, small ones in the front!

My cookbooks go in too, I used a rack to store them for easy access.

After a good cleanup, we can now use our pantry again.

Don't even dare to ask me for how long it will stay this way! I just spend an entire day painting, cleaning and organizing. (ok, I'll give it one to two months)

Looks like the pantry of a single person that would rather go out to eat.... We would starve at our home with such an empty pantry.... It looks good... But we use every bit of space in ours

  @James N Michelle Eoff we don't like to be wasteful so we only buy what we really like. Glad you like the makeover tho.

I also have many food items in my pantry but to paint the edges of the shelves is brilliant and this spring I'll do it. busy busy busy
