I started all of these projects with two different size cream-colored battery operated candles.

First, paint your candles with acrylic craft paint.

Next, add texture by using a utility knife to cut lines and knots into the candle.

After that, apply a dark stain to the candle and wiped off the excess.

After the stain has dried, paint the candle cream, wiping off the excess paint. This will give the candle depth.

Next, add some more dark stain to the cuts that were made to enhance them.

And here are your very own Pottery Barn looking birch bark candles!

(No one will know they aren’t real bark!)

First, paint the lower 1/4“ of the candle with Tacky glue.

After that, while the glue is still wet, sprinkle large glitter onto the glue. I continued working around the candle in small sections, working my way up the candle.

In less than 15 minutes, you have a sparkly centerpiece that will dress up any table!

First, remove one sheet of gold leaf from the packet and then gently tearing off small pieces of the leaf.

Next, apply the leaf to the candle using your fingers, rubbing briskly over the leaf until you achieved the look that you want.

This will add a gold touch to any room!

First, break apart and melt the wax. You will want to purchase pillar wax as opposed to paraffin wax because you will want it to be able to hold it's shape.

Once the wax has melted, pull it off the heat & let it cool for about 15-20 minutes. Be sure to make sure it doesn't harden - you are just wanting it to cool down.

After that, grab a hand mixer and begin mixing the wax. Continue to do this until it's the consistency of thick whipped cream it will be able to stand up on it's own.

Next, grab your flameless candles & apply. You will definitely want to lay something down to protect your surface as this can get messy!

After that, add some white glitter (this is an optional step).

These snow mound candles will add a warm glow to any room!

I hope this inspires you to give your inexpensive flameless candles a high end look today! icon
