I'm sure you've come across something in your home that's just lost it's appeal. Well, that's hat happened to these lamps. This set of shabby old lamps had been in the basement for years, they were very dated. I wasn't sure how to update them.

Until I discovered that you can chalk paint anything. Literally. So I got to painting these lamps. I gave them a good clean with vinegar and warm water to remove and dust. Then a coat of Annie Sloan’s French linen paint all over the base.

The next step was to dry brush. This is a technique where you put very little paint on the tips of your brush and lightly brush the areas you want to highlight with another paint color, I used white.

Then the final color and bit of shine comes from adding copper gilding wax to the raised areas.

And then I added a pretty new neutral shade to make them look new.

And what a difference that makes. I love it!

Before and after. They look beautiful now 💕 Hope you like em!

I am not sure I understand when you added the pink paint that shows through the white? First the linen, then the white, but you never said the last color; must have been the pink? Did I just miss it? Thanks for sharing, beautiful.
