Some months ago i've built a loft for a friend of mine and i've collect a lot of scraps of flooring spruce wood than i've dcided to make a circoular wall clock using a wall kit clock.

This is a simple project , affordable and in range of everybody; icon icon

icon it needs not too much tools:

  1. FLOORING WOOD SCRAPS
  2. CLAMPS
  3. WALL CLOCK KIT
  4. WOOD STAIN
  5. SAND PAPER
  6. 1/4 SHEET SANDER
  7. PLUNGE ROUTER OR JIGSAW
  8. PASSIONicon
  9. LOVEicon

I start choosing best pieces of scrap wood i have and decide which size of clock i want to make regarding the wall or the place i'm going to put it.

In this case i choose a 60 cm diameter clock because i have 5 pieces of spruce from a matchboarding panel and to utilise the bigger part of wood i could , this is the best size.

After that , thanks to tongue and groove it's simple to glue the pieces together , i use just 2 clamps for that lightly tightened .

During the glue dry i prepare a little strips of scrap and make a rudimental compass with a nail and a hole to put inside pencil to the lenght of the mesure of the radius i choose , 30 centimeters in my case.

Made the compass you can draw the circle line on the panel and than it'll be ready to be cut.

Using the jigsaw or the plunge router with circoular jig , i cut the circe and sand it down from 80 grit to 220 sandpaper.

Then i can manage the wall clock kit and start to place the mechanism and numbers and mark on the circle panel their positions which i gonna attach them after staining.

Then i go ahead with steining process with a white colour and give three coat with a light sanding in between.

Because of the kit hasn't the numbers in between and i want to give a more complete look to the piece ,i make some plywood circle of 40 mm ,paint in black and then put them in between of the bigger numbers.

I attach the bigger number with double sided masking tape and the circles with one nail and a drop of CA glue.

Set in place also the mechanism and attached a poster wall hang we are ready to put the clock on the wall icon

I'm very happy for this project because is simple ,useful ,stylish with an evergreen look ,i guessicon
