A Floor Lamp Makeover

When I participated in the One Room Challenge, I was looking for a new floor lamp to tie into my casual coastal feel. I didn't have to look too far!
My Aunt was relocating from her home to a retirement apartment and she had this old brass lamp with a cream colored pleated shade. The brass was showing its age and was dull and uninteresting.

I had an old burlap shade I had actually put in the garbage pile! I pulled it out, taped off some stripes and painted them in with some blue craft paint!
I sprayed the base with my favorite Antique Bronze paint.
You would never know it was the same lamp!
I got the inspiration for the look of the lamp from this Pottery Barn ad!
Not to bad! Cost of the lamp: free Paint: $6.00! Total time involved: 30 minutes!

What kind of paint did you use on the brass lamp? What did you pant it with?
