Floral Lace Dreamcatcher Tutorial

Hey Hometalk! I've been seeing some dream catchers around, and I wanted to make one myself. Well, knowing me, you could already guess that I used some awesome Dollar Tree items to put this beauty together.

I picked up one of these splatter screen pot covers, and I removed the knob.

Then I cut the screen, and removed it.

With the screen removed, I had a perfect metal hoop for the dream catcher.

Then, I laid a doily over the metal loop and began to attach it with some string.

I used cotton string that I cut at 6” and knotted at the top, the bottom, and on each side.

Then I cut the extra edges off.

Then it was time for the ribbons! I glued the ribbon and lace (alternating and varied lengths) around the hoop.

As you can see I went longer on one side.

Then I glued a loop at the top so I can hang it!

Now I have it hanging, but I chose to add some florals as well.

I bunched them the way I wanted and tied the cotton string around the bunch.

Here it is done! I love it, and it was put together for less then $5! See more at my Facebook page- Gilbert Marketplace

I really love that you used a lace doily inside of a hoop!! So delicate and pretty looking! Lace is sooo pretty and makes anything look beautiful! I would love to make something like this too...

I wonder if you can make anything out of your unused wire mesh from the splatter guard??? So many things are used with chicken wire for that farmhouse look that maybe this type of mesh could be used for something with that look in mind...?

    Tfs!
