Hi, I'm Amber Oliver! I hope if you enjoy this project you'll also stop by my blog!

Resin may seem complicated, but it creates a beautiful and durable finish for your projects! Keep reading to see how to make a SPARKLY resin clock!

Start with your clock face. Mine was unfinished wood I painted white, but you could get really creative here!

I used iridescent stickers for the numbers on my clock, but you could also paint them on by hand.

Put your numbers around the clock face, spaced evenly apart.

Now it's time for resin! Don't forget to wear gloves - you'll thank me later!

This is a multi-step process so don’t start mixing until you are ready to do the whole process from beginning to end!

Start by mixing EQUAL parts of the Hardener and the Resin.

Stir for two minutes (be sure to scrape the bottom and sides)

then pour from the first cup into a second and mix with a new stir stick for one more minute.

I also opted to add some sparkle by mixing in glitter, but it's totally optional!

Prepare your work surface. You want to make sure to protect the table top and

use disposable cups to elevate your clock.

Pour the resin directly onto the surface of the clock.

You can use your stir stick to help move the resin around.

Move the clock as needed to make sure the entire surface is covered

It's ok if it drips over the sides - we'll clean that up in a bit.

After about 20 minutes you’ll see bubbles appear on the surface of the resin –

you can use a butane torch to pop these or simply breathe on it like I did!

It’s the CO2 in your breath that releases the bubbles – not the heat!

Use a disposable brush to catch the drips along the sides of your clock.

Once your clock has had time to set and cure, you can add the clock movement!

I grabbed this kit for less than $10.

First, Place the rubber gasket over the center shaft of the clock movement.

Then Insert the center shaft of the clock movement through the center hole of the clock face

Screw on the hex nut to hold in place.

After that, push the hour hand into place then the minute hand.

Lastly, add the open nut if you are using a second hand, or the cap nut if you aren't.

Resin creates a durable finish for your clock and will protect whatever you use to decorate your clock face.

I hope you enjoyed this project and are inspired to create your own clock!

Did you mention how much glitter to use? I tend to put to much glitter on whatever I'm making. Love this idea. I have all that I need to make one. I just wasn't sure how to make a fun clock.

    Thanks Deb S.

A moon clock dupe!! What about using glow in the dark powder with the resin? I’ve always wanted one but the price is too much! Or for a kids room? 🤔

That is cool , but I wish the numbers were dark. I love the face of it. Very smart of you.

Looks good but maybe have the numerals a darker color. Hard to see them among the glitter. Very faint. A red of blue would be nice.
