A Before and After Story: Upcycled Antique Vanity Nightstands

A neighbor gave me an antique vanity that she accidentally broke while bringing it down the stairs. Instead of repairing it I decided to redesign it, and create a pair of beautiful Shabby Chic style nightstands for my master bedroom.
I cut down the mirror support poles, gave each piece a good sanding and gave them a new paint job. I painted each nightstand a light blue with an overlay of a white color wash. I also gave each piece a distressing to bring out the details.
For a touch of whimsy I decoupaged old book pages and a vintage image to the inside of each drawer.
I love how they look in my master bedroom and how the backing on each one frames the bed.
These upcycled nighstands fit perfectly! They are so sweet and dainty!
