Basement Tiki Bar #basementideas #hometalkeveryday

This basement bar was in dire need of an update. With just a few dollars I turned it into a fun Tiki Bar perfect for summer entertaining.
The homemade bar was a mess. The bar was covered with carpet staples and ugly vinyl.
I added some grass Hawaiian skirts, lays and little battery operated lights that I found at the Dollar Store. The bar shelf was wrapped in burlap ribbon to cover the ugly vinyl.
I found some vintage stools the former tenants left behind in the house, perfect for this bar project.
Behind the bar, I had a little fun with this vintage style sign and some old postcards. The post cards are hung on twine with little clothes pins. The parrot garland also came from the Dollar Store.
There was a big hole in the wall behind the bar (probably for a refrigerator at one time), we covered it with a vintage door. The tea cart was re-purposed into a bar cart with some vintage barware, more lights and some fun party decorations. Lots more details on the blog!
