"Cute as a Button" Tree Tutorial

We spent some time this morning making this cute little button tree canvas art for the girls room. They were so easy and inexpensive to make! We bought the buttons and canvas at Walmart. I had the acrylic paints on hand that were used to paint the background. My kiddos had a blast helping and now we have awesome one-of-a kind art that'll match perfectly in the girls room!
It was super easy to paint the background. I simple squirted on the paint, blended with my favorite paint brush, a purdy cub XL, and let dry.
Once the background was dry, I painted the trees.
Next, we started applying the buttons.
And the rest is history!

what did you use to stick the buttons on? Since your daughters did it I'm guessing some kind of craft glue and not a glue gun
