DIY Modern House Number Sign Using Hot Glue

We partnered with Surebonder, a family owned and operate hot glue company, to design a woodworking project constructed entirely with hot glue!
We used simple materials with easy cuts and it's put together with Surebonder's 3-Minute Construction Hot Glue. Did you know such a thing existed? Take a look at how our modern house number sign with planter came together.

We are using a 12' cedar board which we had cut down at the store to fit in the car! Cedar is a good choice for projects that will be used outside.
We are also using house numbers, dusk to dawn solar lights, and Surebonder's 3-minute construction hot glue sticks. That's a battery powered Surebonder hot glue gun and green silicone pad that is helpful in the construction process as nothing sticks to it.
We cut all our pieces to size on the miter saw, but since these cuts are so simple, you can easily do this with a miter box and hand saw. You can find the measurements on our blog post or in the video.
We used the blue thing in the picture to keep the vertical and horizontal edges straight as we glued the boards together. This will be the front side.
Once the boards were glued to each other, we flipped it over and hot glued boards across each end of the back. We are using glue to help weatherproof the seams as well.
Once the back was finished and weather sealed, we flipped it back to the front to add the planter box. The weights are being used to help hold it in place as the glue cools and hardens. We sealed the seams with hot glue inside the box as well.
The front and back got a couple of coats of spar urethane to help protect the wood.
We put the the numbers onto the front and screwed them into place. We also added the solar lights and put hanging hardware onto the back.
I added some floral foam and put some fake succulents into the box and finished it with some dried moss. You could also use plants.
These brick clips make it easy to hang the sign on the brick without having to drill holes into the brick or mortar.
All finished!
This could also be constructed using nails or screws.

Hi guys, THAT is a lovely house number plaque. Thank you for sharing the project. You also have now made my day. I didn't know there was glue gun sticks of commercial outside grade. Makes my life easier lol. I am assuming I can use the sticks in any glue gun??? Thank you for taking the time to answer.
