I'm sure we've all seen these plastic crayons at the dollar store, so I thought to use them as some DIY decor! These bookends can be used in a Kid's room, or even in the classroom!

It's so cute, so much potential! I removed the crayon label very carefully. Then cut in 1/2 placing the CRA to the front and the YON to the back and cut out the middle away.

I started by cutting the center out. Not the label this will be my front and back

Then I cut the wood I'd need. I measured the front half and added an inch and then did the same for back then cut the side to the bookends 7”.

This is how I will nail them together.

\Nail the boards together, and then sand them down to smooth them out.

Once they were in place, I sprayed them with some blue paint which will look really great with the red crayon. 🖍

If there are any areas where the sticker doesn't cover, you can use a sharpie to fill it in.

Glue the crayon to the center of the stand and repeat with the other end.

It should look just like this! Now it just needs to be put on your bookshelf!

Grab your books and slide them in. How adorable is that?
