Simple DIY Wooden Crate Shelf For Our Guest Bathroom

I wanted a small shelf for extra storage in our guest bathroom and I just wasn't finding

an option that seemed to work. I needed something that wasn't very deep and it seemed like

everything I liked was just not the size I wanted.

When I came across wooden crates I stacked them in the store and took a photo and

decided to think about it.

I decided to try the wood crates and ended up picking them up the next time I went to the store.

I placed them in the space to get a visual, and I really liked it so I got to work and ordered some wood bun feet that I found online.

When those arrived I simply used Gorilla Wood glue to glue the crates together as well as add the bun feet.

When the glue had dried, I went ahead and painted the piece white.

After the paint had dried thoroughly I placed it in the space and loaded it up.

It fit perfectly in this space for what I was wanting, and overall

I am really happy with how it turned out.

I found out by experience that anytime i have used a wood product in my bathroom, within a few months it warps. I think it's the steam from showers, hot baths, etc... so my preference is still metal shelves.

No question but I wanted to say I love that you do crafts at your table. So do I!!! It’s just the perfect place for me to work and get creative.

Thanks for sharing this video. I plan to make these for my classroom.

Hate to tell you this, folks, but this is not a new idea. When I was a kid (I'm 87 now) we used apple crates for nightstands. Apple crates look just like this, complete with divider, but with solid sides instead of slates. They weren't considered stylish then, but they were free, which meant we could afford them. Just shows that styles don't change, they just rotate - with a new coat of paint, of course.
