Dollar Store Mat Upscaled Sign

This project was so easy, and real fun to do! I picked up a doormat at the dollar store for just $3!

I then gathered some wood to use as a "frame" around the mat.

I sanded all the wood and then I lightly dry brushed some white on the boards.

Then I wiped the stain over the dry paint (the stain will not cover on paint so you get this cool weathered look).

Next I nailed the wood in the rectangle shape using my staple gun.

Then I placed the floor mat on top of the wood box and stapled it on the back. It has a pretty thick rubber backing, so it doesn't need extra backing.

Check out what the back looks like. Clean and sturdy!

How cute is that? Instant wall art. You can add a hook to the back to hang it. It also stands on it's own on a shelf.

You can make so many versions of this, just pick up a doormat at the dollar store. Hope you give it a try too! Check out some more ideas on my Facebook page.
