How To Build a Crate From Dollar Store Items

Here's another one of my fabulous dollar store projects. This will be another fast and easy create project. This super cute shabby chic project can be done in just 30 mins so let’s get started!

All you’ll need is something like these two signs, and a pack of garden stakes.

I began by staining my stakes using Driftwood by Minwax.

Next, I cut the points off and then cut the stakes in half. This made them 17” long.

Next I laid the stakes out on a flat surface.

I then hot glued them inside the back of the signs (to the sides and bottom of the sign).

To fully secure the stakes to the sides of the signs, I nailed them in as well. This is not required, but will help to keep your crate in tact.

It's looking like a crate!

I added a bit of twine around the edges to cover up the nail marks, it looks more finished this way.

I placed three canning jars and some green in the crate.

Here it is, all finished! It looks really cute, and is super useful as well!

This is the front on my farmhouse buffet.

What is on the ends of the crate? It's not listed under the supplies needed.
