There is a time and a place to use spray paint when painting furniture, and this vintage metal desk was just that. Using spray paint and some fun decorative film gave this desk a fun new look that is durable and easy to recreate.

I was given this metal desk for free. At first sight, I knew I wanted to do something creative and make this desk stand out.

I gathered some good spray primer and a brightly colored spray paint for the base color. For an accent, this gold color was exactly the sparkle I was looking for.

Be sure to have some good painters tape and extra newspaper around when using spray paint. A little time taping and guarding against over spray will give you nice clean lines and an overall better look.

I didn't waste any time playing dress up with this desk once it was finished.
