Antique Wooden Sieve Farmhouse Wreath
Old wooden sieves abound at garage and estate sales. They make great farmhouse wall art in-and-of themselves, but with a few embellishments, they can be made to look pretty spectacular! Look for them in basements, garages, or sheds at estate sales. You might even score a square one which has its own special charm.
It made the perfect accent for my ironstone-filled corner cupboard, but you could hang it on your front door or on a gallery wall.
First I restored the dried out wood on the sieve. I make my own wood salve, but you can use another product that's good for re-hydrating wood.
Then I gathered together the materials I need to make the wreath, including ribbon, hot glue, and pliers.
And some faux greenery and a nest (not shown) as well.
Cut the greenery to size using pliers, if necessary, Place it and nest where they look best--I like the look of the greenery on either side of the nest--and then hot glue them into place.
Make a simple bow (I used burlap) and hot glue it in place as well, and you're done!
