I bought this cylindrical vase, candle and rope from Walmart, but you could find similar items online.

I used my hot glue and glued the end of the rope on the bottom of the vase.

I went around the bottom of the vase, gluing every so often.

When you reach the end of the first loop, keep looping up and around.

Remember to keep gluing along the way.

I went about halfway up and cut the rope.

I glued the end of the rope on.

Add your candle. If your candle is too short, you can always add sand to raise it up.

I glued a starfish onto the rope, to finish off the beachy coastal look.

I think it perfectly compliments the foyer table.

I'm sorry, but my experience with a candle holder put together with hot glue melts when there is a candle burning in it... how do you prevent this from happening?

Looks great but I want to know where the mirror came from? That is the most interesting mirror I have ever seen.
