This was probably the most rewarding project for me personally. I have always wanted a beautiful shiplap wall. I love the old farm feel. The best part is, it's budget friendly and it's not permanent. With styles always changing, this is the way to go!!! Just a few cheap supplies and a little bit of time to get a really expensive-looking end product.

This project works best when done with a partner.

Laser Level

The laser is extra help, but is not necessarily needed.

Tools and Materials

Tools and Materials:

  • Yard Stick
  • Laser level (Helps with old, bowed out walls.)
  • Level

  • King Sharpie Marker

Then place the yard stick under the marker to continue your lines. First do this in pencil and then with a marker to make sure you like the look.

That's it!

I'd love to see a closeup picture of this. Thanks.

I love this idea because it's temporary!

Looking at the finished wall though, how is it that the black sharpie doesn't look black/dark?

Did you put something over it or does it just not show up in the pic?

    Thanks in advance, great job!

Love the light over the table - where did you find it.

    Thanks,

    Victoria

Hint: for about $15 you can purchase a lightweight aluminum ladder so you are not standing on chairs to do work around the house. Far less than the cost of an emergency room visit when you fall off of furniture.
