Calling All Dollar Store DIY Peeps
This is another easy dollar store fall decor item I made. I think you'll like it! I found these truck signs at the dollar store when we were on vacation, and I took them home to make these cute harvest crates. I used scrap wood which I had left over a ladder shelf I built.
The first thing I did was cut the truck sign.
I cut the top pumpkins off leaving just the truck.
Next I took 3 scraps boards (12”x5.5” ) and got them ready to stain.
I stained the boards on all sides.
Then I lined them up in a U shape, like this!
I used a nail gun to staple them together along the bottom edge. But you can also just use a hammer and nails. (I just like to move quickly!)
The crate is built, and now we can place the truck ends. I used E6000 to attach a truck sign to each end of the crate.
On each end I used E6000 and hot glue and lined up the wheels to the sides.
This is what it looks like!
I then attached some extra details to give it a finished and festive look. (Remove from the sign I cut off)
This is the front and back view!
I then filled it with flowers and pumpkins for a cute table centerpiece for my fall decor.
This is a fun project and it only cost $2 to make. So use what you have on hand! Happy Fall Y’all!
