There's no reason to spend hundreds of dollars on a trendy designer sheepskin stool. Learn how to make your own DIY faux fur fuzzy stool in a few easy steps! We created this chic fuzzy stool for use under a makeup vanity but we also believe it would look equally adorable in a little girl's room. The white metal stool, faux fur rug and fluffy pillow are all from IKEA which makes this is an incredibly simple IKEA hack.

IKEA Metal Stool, Faux Fur Rug & Pillow

To begin, assemble your IKEA stool. Alternatively, you could use any stool you already have on hand. You can also opt to spray paint the stool's legs gold if you prefer a little bit of glamour. To find out the exact IKEA stool we used for this project, check out our blog post here.

Large Safety Pins & Fabric Glue

Next, using fabric glue or a glue gun, attach the pillow to the seat of the stool. Be sure the pillow is securely in place and allow the glue to dry before moving on to the next step. Note: the pillow is for extra cushioning and comfort but is not entirely necessary.

Next, place the stool upside down (as shown above) on the faux fur rug. Fold over the outer edges of the rug, and then fold each end towards the center of the stool.

Anchor the rug in place using large safety pins. You can also use an upholstery stapler if you have one on hand.

Finished Fuzzy Stool!

Voila, that's it! A trendy statement piece at the fraction of the price.

Why did you attach the legs to the seat before you added the cushion and fur?

I did something similar a few years ago with a small round stool and a small faux fur rug. Using the existing padding on the stool, I just wrapped the fur around and used heavy duty power staples to attach it to the bottom. The problem however, is after you sit on the stool for awhile, it took no time at all to press all that pretty fluffy fur down to a flat hot mess! It seems they are for decor only! Any suggestions on making it pretty again other than replacing the fur every month?

I was going to do this but your idea is better because I was gonna cut✂️And when I got sick of it it was permanently altered. Excited to do this! Thank you

Yes, using the rug is easier than cutting faux fur! Hope it works out for you!
