Reminds me of my mother. When she bought a fresh pineapple, she would cut the top off about 1-1/2" from where the green joined the fruit and then burry that 1-1/2" below the dirt in a bit pot. She would actually get a pineapple up on a stem! I don't think any of them ever matured, but we all thought it was exciting!

I got 8 pineapple this year and planted more. The shoots produced after the fruit can be removed and planted
