Hello Witches!

I am very happy to say it is October! I am so excited to share this fun, easy, cheap idea with you all!

Since I was a little girl I have always loved witches during the month of October. My favorite movie is of course Hocus Pocus and I wanted to decorate my porch with a magical Witch touch. What better than to have floating witch hats? Hope you love it!!! The Trick or Treaters will love it as well. I'm also thinking to get a back drop so the trick or treaters can take photos. I truly love trying to make things magical for all ages.

What You'll Need

  1. Fish line (Walmart $0.98)
  2. scissors
  3. 6 to12 Witch hats ( Amazon (12) $14.99 or Dollar Store)
  4. Staple Gun

How To

  • Take the Fish Line and double knot the tip of the hat
  • After knot make string go 12inches and cut it ..Continue -Repeat
  • Once all witch hats are tied....carry your hats to the location where you will be hanging them.
  • Here is my location, staple into ceiling and then tie another knot around staple for extra security ;) Length for hanging is optional ;)

I adore these hats, they are marvelous! A suggestion tho: Couldn't a needle and button be used instead of tying around the hat tip? Thread fishing line, poke threaded needle thru hat tip, tie button on the other end of fish line. Then no crimp at hat tip! Just an idea.

I so hope that Debbie, who replied on Nov. 5 of last year, remembered this! Tomorrow is shopping day, and I'll be adding fishing line and hats to the list! I have saved, somewhere, a method to make faux candles with battery-operated tea lights, hot glue (for the dripping wax) and toilet tissue roll cores. I may experiment with hanging the candles from the center of each hat!
