This easy mason jar project makes a cute craft for gifting food gifts this Christmas. Learn how to make this winter DIY snowman mason jar gift for friends, family and teachers this holiday season. Then reuse the jar later for DIY holiday home decor throughout winter. Alternately, you can fill it with mini Christmas ornaments, small pinecones or a terrarium for easy holiday home decor.

This mason jar craft project is super quick and easy! Plus it looks great. What better than to gift a darling jar of holiday treats? Learn how to decorate a mason jar to hold an array of homemade gifts such as white chocolate covered pretzels, cookie mixes and more!

You can find the full tutorial for my snowman mason jar craft project here. (I also tell you how to make easy white chocolate covered pretzels to tuck inside. And there are free printable Merry Christmas gift tags. So don't forget to hop on over!)

Start with an empty mason jar. Remove the lid from the jar.

You can now decorate your mason jar to look like a snowman. Begin by painting the lid to the mason jar black.

While the paint dries, glue a series of three red buttons onto the front of the mason jar.

Print out the free printable Merry Christmas gift tags here for your snowman mason jar craft. (I printed mine onto cardstock.) Then use twine to the tie the gift tag onto the decorated mason jar.

Your DIY snowman mason jar is now ready for its new home! Everyone loves to receive food gifts. (Just be sure your recipient doesn't have food allergies.) I love gifting these not just to teachers, friends and family but to neighbors and coworkers as well!

Once the paint and the glue for the buttons have dried, fill the jar with white chocolate covered pretzels or any other gift of choice. Alternately, to use the jar as holiday home decor, simply fill it with mini Christmas ornaments or pinecones. Or even small seasonal holiday toys.

Then screw the lid onto the mason jar. Finally, tie a ribbon around the mason jar into a bow.

(You can easily make chocolate covered pretzels by melting baking chocolate in a double boiler. Then simply dip the pretzels one by one into chocolate and place onto parchment paper. Once hardened, they are ready to be packaged in an airtight container.)

Great teachers gifts. The children could help. I think it would be great for them to see something that they made make their teachers smile. Totally heartwarming. Happy safe holidays
