Following a family walk on the beach collecting treasures of pebbles and driftwood we set ourselves the challenge to create a Christmas decoration.

The kid in me loves building towers of bricks, at the beach, to see just how many I can balance.

Once home we experimented with different ideas, settling on creating trees out of the pebbles.

The starting point to making your own three tree Christmas decoration is to create tree trunks out of drift wood, sawing pieces 1- 1 3/4" long. Place on a larger piece of driftwood which acts as your base for your Christmas decorations.

Play with stones and pebbles to create tree shapes. Top with pieces of sea glass to add a contrast to your tree.

Once you are happy with your design glue together. I have used expanding gorilla glue which adjusts to any variations in levels between the stones and the drift wood. It does take time to set.

Once your trees are set drill a hole using a dremel drill piece in the top piece of sea glass. You can find out more about drilling sea glass here.

Create a star out of jewelry wire by folding it in 1" lengths.

Using pliers fold at the centre to create a star shape.

Place in your drilled sea glass hole.

Glue to the top of your trees.
