DIY Mirror Remodel
Ok so this is one of those projects where you need the patience and time to do it. It took a whole day to complete this remodel but I feel like it's so worth it.
I got this Mirror for $10 at a thrift store which makes it even more exciting. Because it looks like it cost me $60 or more
Looking at this before photo now I still can't believe this is the same mirror.
And it doesn't take a lot of supplies to transform it.
Materials are:
• sandpaper 60/80grit
• wood stain of your liking
• paint brush
Let's get started, First thing you want to do is get your sand paper and test a corner to see if the old stain will come off. If it does then your good to go.
I hand sanded the whole mirror just because I didn't want to lose all of the indents using a power sander.
Little tip I folded the sandpaper in half to get into the creases.
And just keep going this is the part that took a lot of time.
I also put painters tape along the inside to prevent the sandpaper from scratching the mirror when I got to the edge
It took me about a couple of hours. Once your done clean the mirror of any dust and start staining
I used golden pecan. I'm very into the light boho neutral colors.
I did about two coats of stain. And I let them dry a little in between staining.
And your done. You can enjoy your new mirror

I thought initially it was gold...thanks it looks great. Did you ever consider leaving the large mirror there and adding a frame? just wondered. looks so much cozier with a smaller one
