DIY Woven Faux Christmas Ornaments

If you have some boring Christmas ornaments and a pile of yarn scraps, I have the perfect way for you to use them. I've been wanting to make a woven Christmas ornament for a while, but couldn't quite figure out an easy way to do it. Then I decided that I didn't actually have to weave on an ornament... I could fake it and I'm so glad I did because these ornaments turned out lovely. Plus, most of us have everything on hand to make these, so it's a very cost effective DIY!

I have a lot of these plain, plastic ornaments in my basement and they worked perfectly for this craft. Start by adding a drop of hot glue to the ornament.

Press your yarn onto the hot glue. Slowly work your way around the ornament with the glue and yarn. You can use as many different kinds of yarn as you wish.

After I had my entire ornament covered, I went back and added loop yarn pieces and it really made these ornaments look cool.

You can add tassels, pom poms, tulle or anything else to decorate your woven ornaments.

I love how these turned out. You can customize them to match any home décor and it's a fun way to add color and texture to your home for the holidays.
